The emblematic Roque Nublo, set at over 1700m, dominates most of the island and can be seen from the west and south. Thanks to the proximity of the roads, access has been made easier, and you find yourself in the middle of a crowd... The route to the south is less popular and the loop remains an interesting option, despite the crowds which detract a little from the natural ambience at the summit. A short, very accessible hike for a day of rest or transition. In any case, the view from the west side is quite exceptional. Otherwise, there's the option of climbing the rock from the west face to get a little higher than the swarm of tourists!

Go to the center of the island between Tejeda and San Bartomolé de Tirajana. The G-60 takes you over a pass at Montana del Aserrador. Park either at the start of the road to Le Carrizal or right at the trailhead.
From the parking lot on the Le Carrizal side, drive up the road and climb a little on the G-60 to the pass, where you'll find the well-marked S-70 trailhead to Roque Nublo, 3.5 km away.
If you're parked at the pass parking lot, just cross the road.
This is a short, easy loop around Roque Nublo, with little ascent and little distance to cover. The itinerary is obvious and the path well marked. The signposts are sufficient, and you can either follow the flow of tourists or go by sight.
After a short trail, you climb over rocky slabs to cross a small gap and enter an inner valley with a water reservoir and pine forest. We cross to the north to finally see Roque Nublo in our sights. We approach it, climbing slightly until we reach a fork on the right. Here, it climbs a little more until you reach the pass that gives access to the ridge leading to the Monumento del Roque Nublo!
Lots of people here. Follow the ridge on the rock to quickly reach the end and the 2 huge boulders there. You can go round to the right for a more leisurely pace and, above all, a bird's-eye view of the western part of the island.
Retrace your steps to the pass and this time descend on the north side, where most people descend. Further down, fork left in a hairpin bend to start the loop under Le Roque in the pines. Further on, there's another junction, this time leading back across to the ascent junction. All that remains is to do the 1st part in the opposite direction to the parking lot.
